Valeria Yoga

I have started practising yoga in 2005 in my home country, Italy, and I completely fell in love with it. Since then, I have traveled and lived in many countries and yoga has always been a constant in my life. I explored different styles with several teachers, gaining the inner benefits of each path and of the wonder of discovery. After ten years of practice, I became a certified yoga teacher in Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow (RYS 200-hour course, India). I am inspired by the light, love, self-knowledge and confidence created by a dedicated yoga practice. I consider yoga one of the most powerful tools to connect to our inner selves and to embrace the beautiful, life-long journey of discovery of the multiple treasures of our own heart.

Yoga has accompanied me in my academic and professional career. With a background in Gender Equality and International Development, I have been working for over 6 years on gender equality and women’s rights in Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia and, currently, in Palestine. My vision is to use yoga to promote people’s physical, mental and emotional well being, to empower communities and to inspire positive thoughts and actions. I feel motivated to share the gift of yoga with vulnerable and marginalized groups (women victims of violence, migrants, refugees), using it as a tool to work on and release traumas, to promote integration/coexistence and to build peace.
